The Cabo de la Vela is located at the peninsula of La Guajira. Being a desertic land inhabited mostly by the indigenous settlement of Wayuu.  They call this place ‘Jepirra’ which under their traditional knowledge it is a sacred space where the spirits of their deceased loved ones arrive to go to the ‘unknown’.

Currently, Cabo de la Vela is considered a touristic place in Colombia.

SERVICES INCLUDED: Round trip transportation, food throughout the tour, accommodations in the form of hammocks or chinchorros, tour guide, travel insurance, visit to the touristic places.

SERVICES NOT INCLUDED: Beverages or beer, shopping tour and/or visits to other attractions.


RECOMMENDATIONS: Snickers or mountain shoes, sandals, walking shorts or leggings, cotton shirt, swimming suit, socks, mosquito repellent, sunblock, flashlight, personal hygiene elements, sunblock and camera.

Day 1
Departure from Santa Marta towards Palomino around 4:45am. Once in Palomino we will take a break to have breakfast. The trip goes on to Riohacha, then to Uribia ,known as the capital of The Colombian indigenous culture and finally to El Cabo de la vela where will be able to enjoy a scrumptious lunch (1pm) and take a deserved rest in Cabo de la vela's beach. You'll visit the most important sites such as " El Pilon de Azucar", El Faro (the lighthouse), La montaña Sagrada (The sacred mountain), The desert of "La Ahuyama" and "Playa dorada" where you will enjoy a bath to keep on going to "El Pilon de Azucar " and stare at the sunset. Finally will return to "la rancheria" to have diner and rest.
Day 2
Departure is around 6:00 am to Manaure. Mainly known for hosting the most important marine salines in the country. You will visit saline puddles, its recollection and its process. Then off to Rioacha where we'll stop for lunch and a panoramic tour in the capital of Guajira. Finally, our adventure between deserts, beaches and majestic landscapes ends by returning to the city of Santa Marta.
